To keep the upmost commitment in maintaining a stable tariff for Macao citizens, particularly to the residential and small & medium enterprises customers, with Macao SAR Government support, CEM has decided to keep the TCA for Tariff A customers (covering 99% of the total customer base) for the 3rd quarter unchanged at 36 cents. This represents the TCA discount for Tariff A customers has increased to 14 cents (28%). CEM will be subsidizing about MOP170 million in the first three quarters of 2012.

Due to the continuous upsurge of fuel cost with average purchase price of fuel oil used for power generation increased 7% compared to previous quarter, according to the calculation under the concession contract, the Tariff Clause Adjustment (TCA) of the 3rd quarter electricity tariff should be 50 cents, an increase of one cent comparing to the previous quarter.

For Tariffs B, C and D, in accordance with the contractual calculated value, the TCA will be at 50 cents per kWh.
