Today, CEM organized a Gansu delegation comprising members of its Customer Liaison Committee (CLC) to visit the Shouhang Dunhuang Solar Thermal Power Project and the State Grid Lanzhou Company to conduct research on multiple power construction projects. The delegation is led by Vong Kok Seng, CLC President and Vice-President of Board of Directors of Macau Chamber of Commerce, with Osborn Lo, CLC Member, Gansu Provincial CPPCC Member, and Director of Macau Association of Retailers and Tourism Services as deputy leader. Bernie Leong, Chairman of CEM Executive Committee; Jane Leong, Director of CEM Transmission and Distribution Department (Business Development); Chris Chao, Director of CEM Customer Services Department; Evan Liu, Director of Power and Networks Dispatch Department; Cecilia Nip, Director of CEM Regulatory Affairs and Corporate Communications Office are the consultants of the delegation. Delegation members include key personnel from associations in Macao, as well as CEM representatives, totaling 24 people.

The delegation departed from Macao via Guangzhou Airport this morning, flying to Dunhuang for a five-day study tour. During the trip, members will visit the Shouhang Dunhuang 100MW Molten Salt Tower CSP project and the Dunhuang Photovoltaic Exhibition Park. They will also visit the State Grid Lanzhou Company, touring the 330kV Taoshucun Substation, the 10kV Taohai Switching Station and the company's Command Center.

In 2016, the Dunhuang 100MW Molten Salt Tower CSP project—independently designed, invested, and constructed by Shouhang—was selected among China's first batch of solar thermal power generation demonstration projects. Connected to the grid in late December 2018, it became China’s first 100MW-class national solar thermal power demonstration plant, successfully mastering the world’s largest (2.7 km in diameter) molten salt tower heliostat field technology. The system uses a heliostat field to reflect sunlight onto a receiver, heating molten salt to over 500°C for thermal storage. Heat exchange is then used to generate high-temperature and high-pressure steam to drive steam turbines for power generation.

The Dunhuang Photovoltaic Exhibition Park integrates science popularization, tourism, leisure, entertainment, and new energy technology exhibitions. Adopting a model that combines tourism with study tours, the park has become an important window for showcasing new energy technologies and promoting the integration of culture and tourism, successfully pioneering a distinctive path of deep integration between industry and tourism.

Located in Anning District at an altitude of 1,600 meters and covering an area of 50 mu, the Lanzhou 330kV Taoshucun Substation commenced operations in 1997 and subsequently underwent voltage upgrades and equipment retrofits. Featuring three voltage levels of 330kV, 110kV, and 10kV, the substation became one of the province's first smart inspection pilot projects in 2021, equipped with over a hundred cameras and robots to achieve comprehensive smart monitoring. The 10kV Taohai Switching Station, commissioned in August 2025, serves as a core hub of the Anning power grid and a key unit of the self-healing demonstration zone. It is equipped with four types of standby automatic power input protection methods to ensure stable power supply.

Established in October 2023, the Command Center of State Grid Lanzhou Company serves as the "command hub" for production safety and emergency power supply assurance. It shoulders the role of the command hub for production safety, service assurance, and emergency response, and is responsible for ten core businesses—including safety control, production control, emergency control, fire safety control, comprehensive duty management, operational display, power supply service command, emergency power guarantee, professional support, and system operation—thereby achieving agile online and offline control.

Through this visit, CLC members will experience firsthand the nation's major breakthroughs in new energy and smart grids, providing highly valuable insights and references for Macao to further deepen smart city construction, optimize power supply services, and promote green science education in the future.
