The 3rd CEM “Let's Get Energized” Street Dance Competition concluded successfully, with participants showcasing their youthful energy
Macau, 21 September 2025
Starting from 2023, CEM has held its “Let's Get Energized” Street Dance Competition for three consecutive years. This year's competition, held on the afternoon of 21 September at the Teatro Clementina Leitão Ho Brito, attracted over 240 participants competing across various categories. The invited judges included professional street dancers Loki, Mini, Ocean, and Bai.
There were two categories in the competition, namely “1-on-1 Individual Battle” and “Group Dance”. Both categories included a student division for participants aged 15 or below and an open division for those aged above 15. During the competition, participants captivated the audience with their impressive skills and unique choreography, creating a lively atmosphere. After an afternoon of intense competition, the winners of each category were selected, and the prizes were awarded after the competition.
The award ceremony was officiated by Cecilia Nip and Jaclyn Iun, Director and Senior Manager of CEM Regulatory Affairs and Corporate Communications Office. In her speech, Cecilia Nip mentioned that following the International Olympic Committee's inclusion of breakdancing as an official sport at the Paris Olympics in 2020, breakdancing also made its debut at the 2021 National Games. This year, breakdancing was once again selected in the 15th National Games, further solidifying the status of street dance in the sports system. The Macau SAR Government has been promoting the development of sports and culture, encouraging citizens to participate in various sports activities and enhance their physical and mental health. CEM's corporate slogan is "Powering Forward" and this street dance competition is one of CEM's key initiatives to promote healthy living. Through this platform, CEM hopes to inspire more young people to participate in dance, explore their potential, as well as build confidence and strengthen their willpower in the process.
The competition was intense, with the judges scoring participants rigorously and fairly. After the competition, the judges provided the contestants with highly beneficial feedback. This year, the Group Dance category also introduced a “Popularity Award”, determined by public votes on the CEM Facebook page. The team that received the most Likes was awarded this prize.
