Bernie Leong, Chairman of the Executive Committee of CEM, along with the dedicated task force, held a meeting today at the CEM Building to discuss the 2025 power supply security work for major events. The meeting comprehensively planned the power supply guarantees for various large-scale events in the second half of the year, focusing on the specialized power supply plans for the Legislative Assembly Election, the National Games and other significant events.

Macau will host several significant events in the second half of the year, including the 8^th Legislative Assembly Election, the 15^th National Games (Macao Competition Zone), the 13^th Forum of Presidents of the Supreme Courts of Justice of Portuguese-Speaking Countries and Territories, and the celebrations for the 26^th anniversary of Macau’s return to the motherland, etc. These events have drawn widespread attention and serve as an important platform to showcase the successful implementation of the “One Country, Two Systems” policy and Macau’s international image.

Bernie Leong emphasized during the meeting that the Legislative Assembly Election is a significant political event for the Macau Special Administrative Region, directly related to the well-being of Macau’s residents. Additionally, Macau’s first-time co-hosting of the National Games with Guangdong and Hong Kong holds profound significance for the development of Macau’s sports industry and the diversification of its socio-economic progress. CEM must ensure stable power supply during these important events with the highest standards and strictest requirements.

To ensure the safety of power supply for various events, CEM has developed customized power supply guarantee plans and emergency response mechanisms based on the characteristics and requirements of each event. It has also strengthened communication and coordination with relevant government departments and event organizers to ensure the implementation of all protective measures. At the same time, CEM is comprehensively strengthening equipment inspections and maintenance to ensure the safety and stability of the power network’s operation.
