Companhia de Electricidade de Macau – CEM, S.A. (CEM) Summer Training Program concluded successfully on 16 September 2024 at the Theatre of the Students Activity Centre in the University of Macau (UM) Hengqin campus. The closing ceremony was attended by UM professors and CEM Department Directors, to recognize the outstanding achievements and contributions of the trainees.
The 8-week training program provided 24 UM students with hands-on experience in CEM Customers Services Department, Finance Department, Generation Department, Human Resources and Sustainability Department, Information Systems Department, Power and Networks Dispatch Department, Regulatory Affairs and Corporate Communications Office, and Transmission and Distribution Department. Throughout the program, they engaged in meaningful projects under professional guidance. They also explored future career paths through visits to company facilities and job training opportunities.
Hellen Lok, CEM Human Resources and Sustainability Department Director expressed gratitude during the ceremony: “We are very grateful to the professors from the University of Macau and all our employees who guided and supported the trainees. The innovative ideas and fresh perspectives brought by the trainees have contributed to our work. We hope this summer training experience will inspire to achieve greater success in their future careers.” 
Professor Angus Lam, Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology expressed gratitude to CEM Management Team and employees for their provision of professional training and continuous support to the students. He also extended appreciation to UM faculty members for their guidance and dedication to the students. He commended the students for their contributions and the invaluable hands-on experience gained during the training, encouraging them to apply what they have learned to their future endeavors, while emphasizing that their journey of learning continues. He concluded by congratulating all the students.
CEM is dedicated to nurturing young talents and providing diverse opportunities for professional growth. Since 1991, CEM has signed a cooperation agreement with UM to provide summer training program for their students, the cooperation has lasted for over three decades. The Summer Training Program demonstrates the company’s commitment to fostering the next generation of industry leaders.
