During her speech, FAOM President Ho Sut Heng stated that the FAOM Worker Book House is a collaborative project between the All-China Federation of Trade Unions and FAOM, aimed at enriching the cultural lives of the workers and promoting in-depth learning and implementation of the spirit of the 20th National Congress, as well as patriotic education. Since the launch of the Worker Book House project, FAOM has been vigorously promoting the construction of mobile book houses, hoping they can enter enterprises and become “libraries within reach” for workers. It is believed that through the collaborative project of CEM Reading Corner, more workers will be encouraged to participate in reading activities.
Bernie Leong, Chairman of CEM Executive Committee, expressed heartfelt thanks for the support of FAOM. The CEM Reading Corner provides employees with an enriched reading space, creating a perpetual upward cycle of “reading, learning, thinking, and improving.” With the proactive efforts and assistance of FAOM, the Worker Book House project has successfully been established in Macau and has seen rapid development. This project not only enriches the cultural lives of the employees but also plays a crucial role in enhancing their sense of national identity and belonging.
Following the earlier establishment of a mobile Worker Book House at the CEM Dispatch Center, CEM and FAOM have collaborated again to set up the CEM Reading Corner on the 13th floor of the CEM Building’s staff canteen. Over 200 books have been supplied by FAOM, covering various themes such as literature, history, lifestyle, psychology and mind, crafts and technology, and health and childcare, aiming to provide workers with abundant reading resources and allow them to acquire more knowledge and inspiration, and at the same time, increase their sense of identification with the nation and ethnicity through learning history.
CEM is committed to nurturing the physical and mental health of each employee as well as their continuous professional development. It also places high importance on corporate culture and the development of excellent teams. Through ongoing employee care activities and diverse training programs including skills, safety training, and professional certification courses, CEM enables employees to acquire new skills and knowledge, further enhancing their professional levels and innovative capabilities.
In April, to celebrate the World Book Day, CEM collaborated with FAOM and the Association of CEM & SAAM Workers to organize the “CEM Reading Day - Beneficial Reading” event, allowing colleagues to experience how reading can be combined with fitness, showcasing a new style of diverse reading activities.
