CEM holds Fai Chun writing activity to welcome the Year of the Rabbit

As the Chinese New Year is around the corner, Companhia de Electricidade de Macau S.A. (CEM) wishes Macau residents fortune and good health in the Year of the Rabbit. To usher in the new year, CEM will hold a three-day Fai Chun writing activity from 3pm to 5pm on 18-20 January (Wednesday to Friday) at the lobby of the Customer Service Centre in CEM Building (Address: Estrada D. Maria II, Macau). Famous calligraphers including Kuan Kun Cheong, Lei Tek Chi, Sou Kam Leong, Lam Tak Cheong, Lei Man Wai, Lei U Weng, and Iun Iok Meng will be invited to demonstrate Fai Chun writing and their masterpieces will be distributed to the public for free. Moreover, the activity is a fundraising event for the Fuhong Society of Macau. Residents who receive the Fai Chun are welcome to make donations to the association to send warmth and best wishes to those in need.

Writing Fai Chun is one of the traditional Chinese New Year activities. Calligraphers will welcome the new year through writing Fai Chun with the traditional Chinese calligraphy technique, adding  auspicious festive atmosphere in the community. The schedule of participating calligraphers is as follows: Kuan Kun Cheong, Lei Tek Chi, Lam Tak Cheong, Lei U Weng and Iun Iok Meng on 18 January (Wednesday), Kuan Kun Cheong, Lei Man Wai and Iun Iok Meng on 19 January (Thursday), and Sou Kam Leong, Lei U Weng and Iun Iok Meng on 20 January (Friday).

Every year, CEM organizes diverse community activities to promote social harmony and inclusion. Through this activity, CEM hopes to provide residents with a chance to appreciate the charm of traditional Chinese calligraphy and send festive greetings across the city.
