The 12th China (Macau) International Automobile Exposition will be held at Cotai Expo Hall A, B and C at The Venetian Macao from 11 to 13 November, 11am to 8pm. CEM will set up a booth at the Expo again to showcase two types of existing slow and quick electric vehicle (EV) charging facilities. EV charging method will be demonstrated in the booth to let citizens know more about Macau’s charging network and development plan. CEM is fully cooperating with Macau SAR Government’s policy to promote green commute, EV application and popularization, so as to achieve carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals as scheduled.

With the theme of “Powering Green Commute”, CEM’s booth adopts green, a symbol of environmental protection, as the main color, coupled with natural elements such as green plants and white clouds as well as Macau’s landmark buildings, to present an easy and minimalist style. It also reflects Macau’s concepts of energy saving, environment protection, and nature conservation. Two charging facilities supporting slow and fast charging modes will be exhibited, covering 7kW, 11kW and 22kW, which are suitable for various EV models with different charging power and plug types including CCS2, CHAdeMo and Type2.

To be in line with the green commute policy of the Macau SAR Government, CEM has been actively improving the EV charging network to further promote the usage of EV in Macau. CEM will increase the number of public charging stations to 2,000 in 2022, basically fully covering all public car parks in Macau. At the same time, China’s national standard charging system has been introduced to make the EV charging facilities more comprehensive. Moreover, CEM has also continuously enhanced the software functions. The CEM App has added real-time charging information and status prompts, as well as an electronic wallet recharge functions, etc., to provide EV owners with a more convenient charging experience. EV owners just need to follow “CEM WeChat” and bind their CEM eService account to start charging without logging in every time. Before setting off to charge their EVs, citizens may check the availability of EV charging stations on CEM website or CEM App to make a flexible arrangement for EV charging.

There are many benefits to commute with EV, including significant reduction in CO2 emissions; reducing noise pollution as it is very quiet when driving; with the absence of exhaust systems, starter motors, fuel injection systems, radiators and many other parts, the maintenance cost of EVs will be less than conventional gasoline vehicles.
