CEM Energizing Tour was launched aiming at allowing Macao citizens to visit Coloane Power Station and get to know better the operations of a power plant and simultaneously enhance their knowledge about CEM. Since its launch in June 2009, over 7,700 citizens have already visited Coloane Power Station, including schools, local associations, private companies, government departments and also public tours.

During the tour, the visitors had the chance to know more about CEM’s businesses in the form of short films, walk around the power station and understand about the control room, complex cycle generators, refuse incineration plant, wastewater treatment plant, natural gas system and other relevant facilities. Visitors were invited to provide their comments after the tour through a feedback form. 98% of general satisfaction level was achieved, showing how satisfied citizens were to have this chance to tour around CEM facilities.

To reward the interest and feedbacks provided by the visitors, a lucky draw was held and one participant won a MOP5,000 electrical appliances gift coupon. The winner is Chiang U Fong. Among all the comments received, the Best Comment was selected and awarded with a MOP1,888 electrical appliances gift coupon. The winner is Si Chi Cheong and in her statement describes Coloane Power Plant as a Vila and a Garden.

CEM feels proud that this initiative has been well received by the citizens, and in response to the overwhelmed enthusiasm for this tour, CEM will continue the Energizing Tour in 2011 with an enhanced program and itinerary.
