CEM hosts the 20th Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau Power Industry Services Seminar

Companhia de Electricidade de Macau - CEM, S.A. (CEM) hosted the “20th Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau Power Industry Services Seminar” today at 9am at Galaxy Macau. Nearly 100 delegates from the power companies and power industry in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau attended the Seminar to discuss and exchange experiences in regard to the conference theme of “Build Green Living Together with New and Smart Energies”.

The “Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau Power Industry Services Seminar” has been hosted by Guangdong Power Grid Co., Ltd. (GPG), CLP Holdings Limited (CLP), and CEM by turns on an annual basis since 1996. The Seminar aims at strengthening communication as well as information, knowledge and experience exchange in the power services industry of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau with the hope of creating an ideal living environment for residents in the three regions. This year, the event marks its 20th edition, which has become an indispensable platform to actively drive the development and close cooperation among power companies of the areas.

Guests of honor officiating the opening ceremony included Kou Ming, Deputy Director of Economic Affairs Department of Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in Macau SAR Office, Arnaldo Santos, Director of the Office for the Development of the Energy Sector of Macau SAR Government, Zhang Mianrong, Vice General Manager of GPG, Paul Poon, Managing Director of CLP, Vong Kok Seng and Lei Chi Fong, President and Vice President of CEM Customer Liaison Committee, and Bernie Leong, Chairman of CEM Executive Committee.

Bernie Leong said in his Seminar opening speech that the 20th Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau Power Industry Services Seminar is a milestone in the history of power development in the three regions. Over the past years, the Seminar has been driving power companies in the area to move forward and exchange experiences as well as technologies with one another. It plays a crucial role in providing stable and high quality electricity to Macau citizens. Through this Seminar, CEM hoped to share with attendees the effort and achievement that the company has made in the construction of green living, including the implementation of EV charging station and the study on the feasibility of solar power generation. He was convinced that the Seminar would strengthen the cooperation among power companies and facilitate the promotion and use of new and smart energies in the three regions, laying a solid foundation for the construction of green living and providing new impetus for the power supply services and economic development in the area.

Topics and the corresponding speakers included: “The Benefits of Solar Generation lead to the Win-Win Situation of both Enterprises and Power Grid” by Wu Haiyan, General Manager of Foshan Dejiu Solar New Energy Co., Ltd.; “Building an Electricity Saving Alliance Platform to Assist Customers in Energy Saving and Emission Reduction” by Ye Huiping, Director of Marketing Department of GPG Shenzhen Power Supply Bureau; “To Build a Smart Micro Grid based on Distributed Energy Users” by Liang Xiaofeng, Supervisor of Electricity Saving Service Center of Shenzhen Power Supply Bureau; “The Interconnection Services for EV Charging and Battery Replacement” by Qu Dapeng, Project Manager of Marketing Department of Guangzhou Power Supply Bureau; “The Development of CLP’s Green Branding” by Simon Tsui, Manager of CLP Business Marketing & Development - Commercial Accounts; “The Renewable Energy Power Supply Planning in Dawn Island” by Raymond Ho, Senior Maintenance Engineer of CLP Power Transmission and Power Supply Sales Department in the East and West Region; “Introduction of Grid-interconnection of Photovoltaic Solar Power and Electric Vehicle Charging Station” by Leo Xiao, Engineer of CEM Customer Services Department Metering Services Management Meter Engineering Management; “CEM Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Award” by Belinda Chio, Assistant Manager of CEM Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Office.
