CEM and the General Residents Association of Macau jointly hold seminar on energy saving and safet

Macau, 17 July 2016

To promote public awareness of energy safety and saving, CEM holds seminars in collaboration with different local associations every year. This year, after partnering with the Macau Federation of Trade Unions and the Women’s General Association of Macau, CEM and the General Residents Association of Macau (UGAMM) jointly organized a seminar on energy saving and safety at the UGAMM Building in the afternoon on 15 July, attracting over 80 residents to attend.

Apart from introducing CEM’s customer service to members of UGAMM, the Seminar also promoted knowledge of household energy safety, as well as the management and maintenance of public electrical installations in buildings. CEM hopes to enhance communication with its customers through this Seminar. Social Services Office Coordinator of UGAMM Hun Sio Sang, Vice Supervisor of Working Committee for Buildings of UGAMM Ho Mou Pan, Chief of Civic Education Center of UGAMM Lai Ngoi Ieng, CEM Customer Services Department Senior Manager Jane Leong and Communications and Public Affairs Office Senior Manager Cecilia Nip attended the Seminar.

Hun Sio Sang expressed his gratitude to CEM for arranging professionals to deliver presentations at the UGAMM and offering a great opportunity to allow citizens to communicate with CEM representatives, which is conducive to deepening citizens’ understanding of energy safety. Meanwhile, Hun acknowledged CEM’s dedication in providing residents with high-quality customer service, and applauded CEM for imparting correct energy use knowledge to citizens through various promotional channels.

Jane Leong said that CEM has always been committed to providing quality services to customers. In addition to launching “e-Service” and “Mobile App”, CEM regularly holds seminars in communities to strengthen mutual communication with the public and encourages energy saving at home and the selection of proper and safe electrical appliances. While Summer is the peak season for power consumption, residents in Macau are welcome to call 2833 9911 for any enquiry regarding power usage.

Cecilia Nip said the Seminar was held to help citizens learn ways to effectively utilize and save energy and become aware of the importance of the maintenance and management of public power installations at buildings, in order to avoid affecting the daily life due to disrepair. To enhance communication with the owners’ management committees, CEM has held a number of seminars in collaboration with UGAMM, providing the owners’ management committees as well as citizens with an opportunity to voice their opinions to CEM.

At the Seminar, CEM Customer Services Department Customer Contact Management Officer Ryan Chan introduced CEM’s various services, including “e-Service” and “Mobile App”, and explained the power supply application procedures and payment methods, as well as some common questions on government’s electricity subsidy. Customer Services Department Metering Services Management Engineer Sin Ka Man shared with the attendees the “responsibilities and periodic maintenance of public electrical installations”, “energy safety at home” and “energy saving tips at home”, teaching residents how to save energy while using appliances safely.

The interactive Q&A session at the end of the Seminar received enthusiastic response from the participants. The Seminar came to a conclusion in a joyous atmosphere. Since its establishment in 1972, CEM has been aiming to improve its operation efficiency and customer service quality. CEM will continue to provide better customer services to the public.
