Macau, 4 July, 2016

With the objective of enhancing the interest and knowledge of Macau’s students about CEM’s premises and operations, CEM launches a ‘Building Blocks’ Competition. Students are encouraged to use their talents and creativity to build a model solely made of ‘building blocks’ representing CEM’s image or any of its premises, such as power station, transformer, substation, Customer Service Centre, car fleet, Dispatch Centre, CEM’s mascots Power Buddies, etc. Competition will include two categories: Primary School Student Group and Secondary School Student Group. Top 5 winning entries of each group will be exhibited during CEM Energy Fun Fair to be held at Tap Seac Square on 23 October 2016.

From now till 23 September, students can submit their entries in photos to CEM (individually or in group) by email, in person or by post. Each participant can enroll maximum three entries. The ‘Building Blocks’ pieces can be of any type, brand, color and size and the final art piece should not exceed 45cm (H) x 45cm (W) x 100cm (H).

A judging panel composed of invited professionals and CEM representatives will evaluate the entries based on creativity, level of difficulty, originality, expression of the theme and aesthetics. From all entries received, Top 10 entries will be selected from each group by 7 October. These entrants will be notified individually to submit their real pieces before 14 October for final evaluation. The judging panel will then select the Top 5 winning entries from each group.

The ‘Top Five Winning Entries’ from the Primary School Student Group will receive cash prizes of MOP1,500, MOP1,000, MOP500, MOP300 and MOP200, respectively, and a trophy, while the “Top Five Winning Entries” from Secondary School Student Group will receive cash prizes of MOP3,000, MOP2,000, MOP1,000, MOP800 and MOP500, respectively, and a trophy.
