Caring for the elderly and expressing our empathy for them can make them feel less lonely and realize that love exists in this world. For this purpose, CEM and Peng On Tung Tele-assistance Service jointly launched “CAT members 1+1 Elderly Program”, starting this May.

The program pairs one CEM Ambassador with one elderly. Apart from regular telephone communications and greetings, more diversified services like household power safety inspection, change LED bulbs, and regular visits with healthy foods are also provided with the support of CEM.

On 29 June 2015, CEM Ambassadors who took part in the program accompanied 15 senior citizens to attend the Energizing Tour. During the tour, the elderly partook in many activities including the visit to CEM Exhibition Room featuring a display of electrical appliances of more than 50 years old, old equipment from CEM operational departments, information about the company’s milestones and generation process and the site visit to major generation infrastructures. At the end of the tour, the Ambassadors played games with the elderly and sent out many gifts. CEM expected that the activity can create a relaxing vibe for the elderly as well as letting them know more about the operations of the company. The activity ended in a joyful atmosphere.

Apart from the CAT members, Advisor to CEM Executive Committee Iun Iok Meng, CEM Communications and Public Affairs Office Senior Manager Cecilia Nip as well as Peng On Tung Tele-assistance Service Social Worker Kam Iok Leng also joined the tour.
