A closing ceremony of the sixth CEM Integrated Training Program (ITP) was held at the Macau Tower on 28 April. This Program was co-organized by the Macau Institute of Management (MIM) and CEM. The ceremony was officiated by Tommy Lau, Council Chairman of Macau Management Association (MMA); and Benjamin Yue, Principal Advisor to the Executive Committee of CEM. ITP was specially designed by MIM for a group of young engineers and officers of CEM with outstanding performance and management potential. This year the program reaches the sixth term since its launch in 2004, attracting more than 100 employees successfully completed the studies. Through the structural management training, participants have developed managerial competencies in order to face the current and future challenges, improved their operational efficiency and competitiveness and eventually become prepared for job mobility in the future. CEM ITP 2014/2015 included nine workshops, covering various themes such as problem solving and decision making skills, service management, financial management, negotiation and presentation skills, etc.

Tommy Lau stated that the program was specially organized for CEM staff with outstanding performance and potential for promotion. Through interactive lectures, including self-profiling tools, case studies, role plays, group discussions and experiential learning sessions, ITP helps further develop the indispensable competencies that are required for an excellent manager. He expressed that the closing ceremony would be the start of the next phase of a life-long learning journey for all participants and wished that they would continue to build on the foundation that they have established through the studies and apply the knowledge at work.

In his speech at the ceremony, Benjamin Yue expressed his gratitude to MIM and MMA for their efficient assistance and to the CEM management as well as department heads for their great support to program participants. As well, he much appreciated the great efforts from participants in successfully completing the program as it was not easy for them to achieve 100% attendance in the six-month training course with heavy duties in the daily job.

CEM is committed to providing a variety of quality internal training courses to the staff, which may help strengthen their skills in management, customer service, occupational safety and interpersonal communication and eventually help them achieve upward mobility.
