CEM continues to offer subsidy to maintain tariff unchanged for all Tariff A customers

According to the calculation under the concession contract, the 1st quarter Tariff Clause Adjustment (TCA) is 44 cents per kWh.

Nevertheless, concerning the impact of a lifting TCA to the residential and SME customers, and fulfillment of its social responsibility, with the support of Macau SAR Government, CEM decided to maintain the Tariff A TCA at 36 cents per kWh, subsidize 8 cents per kWh of TCA.

CEM announces the TCA of the 1st quarter of 2014 for Tariff A (mainly residential customers and small and medium enterprises supplied with low voltage, more than 99% of all customers) will remain unchanged at 36 cents per kWh, while for Tariff B, C and D, the TCA will be adjusted to 44 cents per kWh according to the contractual calculated value, which is 1 cent per kWh less than the TCA of last quarter.

CEM has been reducing the receipt of the TCA to manage the electricity tariff rise since 2008.
