CEM attends The 15th Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao Power Industry Services Seminar to promote cooperation among power companies in the three regions

The Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao Power Industry Services Seminar, which is held annually in turn by CEM, Guangdong Power Grid Corporation, and China Light & Power International Limited, has played an active role in enhancing closer cooperation and development of power industries in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao. It is the 15th anniversary of the seminar this year, and it is hosted by the Zhaoqing Power Supply Bureau of Guangdong Power Grid Corporation from 6 January to 7 January in Zhaoqing city, Guangdong province. A CEM delegation of 15 representatives including Senior Managers Iun Iok Meng, Benjamin Yue, Keegan Cheang and Billy Chan was present at the seminar. The seminar is themed on low-carbon economy and customer satisfaction.

CEM Customer Services Department Senior Manager Keegan Cheang stated in the closing speech, “While customers’ attention on issues of global warming is getting intensive and governments are setting up strategies and measures to cope with climate change, low -carbon economy by using clean energy, enhancing energy efficiency and reducing carbon emissions becomes a focal discussion topic. Power industry also becomes one of the focuses on formulating emissions reduction strategies. This year’s theme “Low -Carbon Economy, High Customer Satisfaction” leads us to explore how to satisfactorily balance energy production cost against our impact on the environment. We can do this by drawing on our collective knowledge and experience to look for new solutions and technologies.” About one hundred industry experts from power industry of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao attended the seminar and carried out extensive discussion on issues concerning low-carbon economy and customer satisfaction, and exchanged experience and views, in a bid to further improve the service quality of the power industry, deal with the challenges facing the industry, and create a more ideal and harmonious power supply environment. Other CEM delegates include Jane Leong, William Yip, Karen Tong, Carman Ip, Rico Chiang, Calvin Ho, Lawrence Sun, Eddey Chan, Evan Liu, Jaclyn Iun and Emily Cheong. CEM will host The 16th Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao Power Industry Services Seminar.
