CEM and Macau Kung Luen Vocational & Technical Middle School (KLJC) jointly held a sharing session on cooperation and exchanges at CEM Building. Lei Kam Mei, Substitute Chief of Division of Education and Youth Affairs Bureau and Chiang Chong Sek, Director of Macao Federation of Trade Unions were invited to the sharing session and discussed the development of the vocational and technical education in Macau.
At the session, CEM Executive Director Jorge Vieira delivered a welcoming speech, followed by a brief introduction on CEM’s human resources development by Wendy Vong, HR Planning and Development Manager at CEM. Fong Ka Fai, Principal of KLJC and Wong Hon Fai, Director of KLJC, introduced the achievements of the "Electrical Power System Technical Operator Course" co-launched by both sides, pointing out that the enrolment for the program has been satisfactory for three consecutive years, and the program is well received among the students. They especially expressed gratitude to CEM for dispatching a number of engineers as teachers and providing professional teaching materials to lift the level of professionalism among the students, and the students’ ability is recognized after being open recruited by CEM. Currently there are six students working at CEM. Attendees shared experience in cooperative education, and agreed that the cooperation between the school and the enterprise contributed to the fruitful achievement. They expressed their desire to continue the collaboration to cultivate more professional technicians in the future. CEM will offer internship positions for students in September. They then met up with several students who are now employed at CEM to gain a better understanding of their work. They also visited Coloane Power Station, which deepened the school’s understanding of CEM’s culture and facilities.
