CEM and the Pak Tai’s Birthday Organizing Committee held a lunch gathering at Largo de Camoes in Taipa (In front of the Pak Tai Temple) at 12 noon today. Nearly 300 senior citizens of Taipa and Coloane gathered together with CEM Ambassadors Team members to enjoy the luncheon.
Honorable guests attending the gathering included Mo Yumin, Deputy Director of Social Work Department of the Central People’s Government Liaison Office, Cheong Wai Fan, Head of Administration and Finance Department of the Social Welfare Bureau, Ma Veng Chiu, Head of the Warehouses and Urban Equipment Division of the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau, Vong Kok Seng, President of CEM Customer Liaison Committee, Lei Chi Fong, Vice-President of CEM Customer Liaison Committee, Che Mei Leng, Vice-President of General Residents Association, Choi Kam Fu, Vice-President of Macao Federations of Trade Unions, Yuen Iok Va, Deputy Conveners of the Community Services Consultative Committee of Island District, Yuen Tze Wing, Chairman of Association of Residents of Taipa, Liu Sui, President of Association of Residents of Taipa, Sam Iok Ha, President of Association of Residents of Coloane, Cheong Kuok Choi, President of the Ká-Hó Residents Association, Leong Sio Kai, Chief of the Pak Tai’s Birthday Organizing Committee, and Iun Iok Meng, Advisor to Executive Committee of CEM.
Iun Iok Meng addressed that CEM is pleased to have held this lunch gathering for senior citizens for ten straight years. As a good corporate citizen, CEM is obliged to fulfill its social responsibility to provide long-term support and contribution to social development apart from offering reliable and high quality services to Macau residents. CEM will not have today’s achievements without the support from the community. Hence, since 2005, CEM has been celebrating the Pak Tai’s Birthday with the senior citizens from Taipa and Coloane. In a blink of an eye, this year marked the 10th anniversary of the event. Iun Iok Meng expressed his gratitude to the Pak Tai’s Birthday Organizing Committee for its full assistance and support in the past decade to make the event well prepared and held successfully. He also expressed his gratitude to the CEM Ambassadors Team for their active participation and the doctors and nurses from CEM Occupational Health Services Center who have volunteered to measure the blood pressure of the participating elderly before the lunch since 2007.
During the luncheon, CEM gave away special Laisee to five eldest seniors to show the company’s care. Later, CEM distributed Laisee and souvenirs to the participating seniors. During the luncheon, CEM Ambassador Team members and the senior citizens performed several classic songs respectively. CEM Ambassadors Team members also arranged Q&A on energy saving and safety as well as interesting games to impart knowledge of daily household energy conservation to participants, making the event more fun.
