Macao, 21 January 2011
According to the calculation under the concession contract, the 1st quarter TCA of Tariff A should be 31 cents. Nevertheless, concerning the impact of a lifting TCA to the residential and SME customers, CEM decides to subsidies 3 cents of TCA for Tariff A, i.e., to reduce the TCA from 31 cents to 28 cents per kWh. On the other hand, TCA of Tariffs B, C and D, in accordance with the contractual calculated value, remains at 31 cents per kWh. During the whole year of 2010, CEM put great efforts to maintain a stable tariff for Macao citizens. With the support of the Macau SAR Government, TCA for Tariff A has been maintained stable throughout the year and below the contractual calculated value, allowing 99% of the customers mainly residential and small & medium enterprises to enjoy a lower tariff even when the worldwide energy oil prices were surging and RMB was appreciating. With the objective of sustaining reliable power supply at reasonable prices, CEM is fully committed to strengthening its operational efficiency and customer service.
