To raise employees’ awareness on the importance of resources saving and contribute to the community, CEM organized a Used Clothes and Toys Collection Campaign last month to call for the donation of clothes, toys and books. Through CEM Ambassadors Team members to encourage employees for the donation, the collected items will be donated to Salvation Army Macau.
Under the tremendous efforts of the CEM Ambassadors Team, many CEM staff responded enthusiastically to this charity program, and a large quantity of used clothes and toys were collected within a short period of time.
The collected items were all donated to Salvation Army Macau on 17 May 2011 at CEM Building. CEM Communications and Public Affairs Office Senior Manager Iun Iok Meng, Manager Cecilia Nip, as well as some of the CEM Ambassadors Team members donated the collected items to the Salvation Army Hong Kong & Macau Command Recycling Programme Assistant Chief Operations Officer David Chiu.
Iun Iok Meng expressed that, as one of the major public utilities in Macao, CEM has always been committed to corporate social responsibility. To help and support vulnerable groups in different charitable activities and to improve Macao with a responsible manner, for the Macao people to build a better quality of life.
The Salvation Army thanked CEM staff for their generous contribution and hoped that they can work with CEM again in the future, giving to more needy people the chance to benefit from the generosity of CEM staff.
