CEM Ambassadors took part in Energizing Tour to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival with teachers and students from Concordia

Macao, 20 September 2012

With Mid-Autumn Festival approaching, more than 10 CEM Ambassadors from the Companhia de Electricidade de Macau (CEM), together with around 40 teachers and students from Concordia School for Special Education, took part in the Energizing Tour to visit the Coloane Power Station and celebrate the festival in advance, bringing holiday wishes and care for the students.

In that afternoon, CEM arranged shuttle buses to send the students to the Coloane Power Station. Then, they paid a field visit to the facilities of the power station, such as exhibition room, model room and control centre. This enabled the students to learn more about the power generating facilities and the operation of CEM.

The students were fascinated by the new things they saw during their tour and raised a lot of questions. After the tour, they got a better understanding of the power generation process.

Meanwhile, CEM Ambassadors and the students played group games and enjoyed mooncakes to celebrate the upcoming festival. They took pictures together after a round of award-winning games, marking the end of the joyful journey. All of them went home with plenty of gifts. Apart from the CEM Ambassadors, Advisor to CEM Executive Committee Iun Iok Meng, CEM Generation Department Senior Manager Ip Kam Veng and CEM Communications and Public Affairs Senior Manager Cecilia Nip also participated in the event.

CEM has always been dedicated to society caring and community services. The Company launched the Senior Citizen Support Program and organizes a group of CEM Ambassadors to provide community services to the needy. In line with the purpose of doing good things for society, CEM employees participate in a variety of community service activities, including holding seminars on proper use of power at home and visiting orphanages and social centers for the elderly during festivals, with an aim to deliver their love and care to all walks of life in Macao.
