Guidelines

Objectives:The CEM Rummikub Competition provides a meaningful platform for people of different age groups to compete together, fostering intergenerational communication and contributing to a more inclusive and harmonious community!
Entrants:
  • School Group: Students of Primary 1 to Form 6#
  • Open Group: Macau residents aged 6 years old or above, encouraging intergenerational harmony

#Grade and age are calculated based on the day of competition
*Participants must have basic knowledge of Rummikub

Awards and prizes:School Group:
Champion (1 winner): MOP2,000 and a trophy
1st Runner-up (1 winner): MOP1,500 and a trophy
2nd Runner-up (1 winner): MOP1,000 and a trophy
Fourth Place (1 winner): MOP800 and a trophy
Merit Award (5 winners): MOP500 and a trophy
Most Games Won Award (1 winner): MOP1,000 and a trophy
Open Group:
Champion (1 winner): MOP3,000 and a trophy
1st Runner-up (1 winner): MOP2,000 and a trophy
2nd Runner-up (1 winner): MOP1,500 and a trophy
Fourth Place (1 winner): MOP1,000 and a trophy
Merit Award (5 winners): MOP800 and a trophy
Most Games Won Award (1 winner): MOP1,500 and a trophy
Quotas:
  • School Group: Each school may register up to 2 teams, with 4 students per team. All teams must be accompanied and led by a teacher. A total of 40 teams will be admitted. Should the number of applications exceed the quota, participating teams will be selected via a draw. The first team listed on the registration form will be the priority entry. Students who are interested in participating but are unable to register through their schools may also register the Open Group individually, provided they are aged 6 or above.
  • Open Group: 160 participants (If the number of registrations exceeds the quota, participants will be selected by computerized random draw.) Minors aged 6-12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Competition venue:Macau Fisherman’s Wharf Convention and Exhibition Centre, Hall 3
Entry fee:

MOP100 per participant* (Sponsored by CEM for participants in the School Group, individuals aged below 18 or 65 and above, and holders of a valid Beneficiary Card issued by the Macao Social Welfare Bureau)

*All proceeds will be donated to the beneficiary organization.

Registration deadline:25 September 2026, 23:59 (Friday)
Admission announcement:To be published on 30 September 2026 (Wednesday) on CEM Facebook fan page. Successful participants will be notified individually by email and SMS.
Competition details:

All competitions will be played using Rummikub Original edition. Competitions of each group will consist of a preliminary round, semi-final and final.

Competition date:School Group: 25 October 2026 (Sunday) morning
Open Group: 25 October 2026 (Sunday) afternoon
Rules:
  1. CEM employees are not eligible to participate. However, their children may take part via their schools or by registering for the Open Group;
  2. Prior to registration, all entrants are required to read the guidelines and competition rules carefully, and agree to abide by all the rules;
  3. Admitted participants must pay an entry fee of MOP100 within the specified period. (The fee will be sponsored by CEM for participants in the School Group, individuals aged below 18 or 65 and above, and holders of a valid Beneficiary Card issued by the Macao Social Welfare Bureau). Payment may be made in cash at CEM Building or CEM Taipa Customer Service Centre, or by bank transfer to the designated account. Participants choosing to pay by bank transfer must notify CEM by email within the specified deadline; otherwise, their admission quota will be forfeited and any payment made will be non-refundable;
  4. Participants who have been admitted but fail to pay the entry fee within the specified period will have  their place cancelled and replaced by a participant on the waiting list;
  5. Entry fees are non-refundable if the admitted participant who has already paid is unable to attend the competition on the event day;
  6. Participants who fail to arrive at the venue within the designated time may forfeit their place to an on-site standby participant, subject to availability. On-site standby participants must also abide by all the rules and requirements set out in this guideline and the “competition rules”; 
  7. Once the registration form has been submitted, participants may not be replaced or substituted;
  8. If the number of registrations exceeds the quota, participants will be selected through a computerized draw;
  9. If Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or a Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is in force on the competition day, the competition will be cancelled and rescheduled, with details to be announced separately;
  10. Personal data provided by participants will be used solely for purposes related to this event, and will be handled in accordance with the requirements of Law No. 8/2005 “Personal Data Protection Law”;
  11. In case of any defects regarding the rules, CEM reserves the right to make necessary amendments without prior notice;
  12. In the event of any disputes, CEM reserves the right of final decision.
