Background
Rooted in Macau for 50 years, CEM has been proactively engaging in the enhancement of professional knowledge and skills level of the industry practitioners, with the aim to promote skill standardization for the electrical engineering industry. To ensure the engineering works are complied with the safety standards as well as to enhance the existing ‘CEM Electrical Technicians’ registration scheme, CEM is exploring to introduce a new standard effective as from 2025, requiring all engineering works involving CEM power supply applications must be responsible by ‘CEM Registered Electrical Technicians’ who have passed ‘Technical Skills Assessment for Electrical Technicians’.
CEM will provide a comprehensive certification service to the industry practitioners. Since the launch of “Technical Skills Assessment for Electrical Technicians” in 2021, 128 industry practitioners have passed the assessment and awarded with certificates. Practitioners can choose to take the ‘Technical Skills Assessment for Electrical Technicians’ or to attend training. Upon passing the assessment, practitioners will be awarded with certificates and apply to become a ‘CEM Registered Electrical Technician’.
