CEM is actively promoting the implementation of a new specification to be effective in 2025, requiring all electrical technicians who involve in CEM power supply engineering works to complete the “Skills Assessment Program”, with an aim to constantly upgrade their technical knowhow and motivating the industry. Electrical technicians must fulfill the requirement through one of the following modes of training before applying to CEM to become a ‘CEM Registered Electrical Technician’.
Technical Skills Assessment for Electrical Technicians
|The assessment is divided into two parts: “Knowledge” and “Skills”, which comprehensively evaluate the participant’s knowledge of occupational safety and applications of skills. Participants who pass the assessment will be awarded a certificate issued by CEM.
|Possess a minimum of 5 years work experience related to electrical engineering works
Certification Course for Electrical Technicians
Macau Labour Affairs Bureau and CEM
Assist electrical technicians to obtain certification through theoretical and practical trainings. Participants who pass both examinations will receive a certificate accredited by Macau Labour Affairs Bureau and CEM.
|Possess a minimum of 3 years work experience related to electrical engineering works
As of present, 213 participants have completed the “Certification Course for Electrical Technicians” or passed the “Technical Skills Assessment for Electrical Technicians”, while the existing registration scheme for “CEM Registered Electrical Technicians” will also be optimized in accordance with the new standards.
CEM is going to organize “Technical Skills Assessment for Electrical Technicians” again in February 2024. Industry practitioners are welcome to join the skills assessment, please refer to the details below.
