| The actual capacity of CEM’s generation
consists of three power stations located respectively in the Macau
City namely Macau Power Station (CMC) and two on the Coloane Island
namely Coloane A Power Station (CCA) and Coloane B Power Station
(CCB). Together, CEM has a total installed capacity of 472 MW.
The predominant type of generation technology deployed is the
low speed diesel generator. In fact, this kind of generating
units make up of 57.5% of total capacity installed and generate
as much as 92.3% of total electricity production in 2006. The
Technology used in CCB is Combined Cycle (each combined cycle
has two gas turbines and one steam turbine).
In 2006, the gross energy demand was 2584.5 GWh of which 1557.7
GWh was produced by CEM and 1026.8 GWh has acquired from external
suppliers. The energy breakdowns between CEM production and
energy acquisition were respectively 60.3 % and 39.7 %. And
the annual growth rate was 5.9%. The maximum values registered
for energy and daily load demands were respectively 10594.4
MWh and 521.9 MW.
