At CEM, we understand we play an essential role on our society well being, and so we are committed to make a meaningful contribution to the local community. Being aware of our corporate citizenship responsibility, we involve ourselves with a wide and diverse range of charitable activities, providing financial and other kinds of support to help the less fortunate of our society. In 2007, CEM sponsored and made donations of almost MOP1.4 million to support various initiatives such as art & cultural events, sports activities, social solidarity, conferences, exhibitions, and educational programmes.

Sports Activities

Recently Macau has been pledging to promote the development of the sports activities by hosting a series of important sports events in the Territory. It is our quest to support and encourage such kind of initiatives, as they attract great media interest and coverage, and are important not only for the development of the local sport associations and sportsmen, but, also to promote and reinforce Macau’s regional and international image. Following we introduce some of the events that we have sponsored in 2007:

  • International Dragon Boat Competition, promoted by Sports Development Board
  • Macau Golf Open 2007, promoted by Sports Development Board
  • "World Touring Car Championship final two rounds in Macau” by Andre Couto
  • “MSAR Recreational Cycling Promoter Club” (CPCR-MSAR)

Art & Cultural Events

In 2007 we sponsored the following art and cultural events:

  • 20th Anniversary Celebration of Alliance Française de Macao
  • Annual Charity Gala Dinner of the International Ladies Club of Macau
  • The 21st Macau International Music Festival
  • 10th Guangdong, HK & Macau Putonghua Competition, organized by TDM
  • Best of the Pop 2007, organized by TDM
  • Festa da Lusofonia 2007, organized by Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau

Social Solidarity

We share our responsiveness and support in many ways governmental and non-governmental organizations that dedicate their resources assisting others, encouraging them in their own programmes and events, such as:

  • Annual Fund Raising Campaign of Associação de Beneficiência “Tung Sin Tong”
  • Walk for a Million 2007
  • ORBIS Pin Day, promoted by ORBIS Macau Branch
  • Annual Charity Ball of Rotary Club of Macau

Subsidies

We aim at partnering with the community we serve, working together for a sustainable development of Macau, always recognizing the importance of making a broader contribution to support projects/ initiatives that we believe can contribute to a better living standard of all Macau citizens.
