Introduction
One of the core values of CEM is “respect for people”, which necessarily leads the company towards creating conditions for a healthy and safe working environment.
Under the witness of the Labour Affairs Bureau of Macau, an Occupational Health and Safety Charter was signed between CEM management and the employees’ representative. The Charter encourages both the employer and employees to jointly create and maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS)
Realizing the importance of health and safety issues, and the importance of a structured approach for the achievement of demanding objectives, CEM has developed and implemented an Occupational Health and Safety Management System, in accordance with OHSAS 18001:1999 standard, which was certified by Bureau Veritas (BVQI) on the 2nd of March, 2006.
The OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System standard is one of the most internationally recognized management system frameworks. It aims to reduce and prevent accidents causing life, property and time losses.
Attaining the OHSAS 18001 certification demonstrates CEM’s commitment to act in a socially responsible manner, to create a healthy and safe working environment for its employees, contractors, suppliers and the public in general, and to achieve “Zero Accidents” in its work place.
