A delegation from CEM, led by CEM Communications and Public Affairs Senior Manager Iun Iok Meng and Customer Services Department Senior Manager Keegan Cheang, paid a visit to the Industry and Commerce Association of Macao Northern District on 10 March. They were warmly received by the association members, including president Wong Kin Chong and director-general Ma Kin Cheong. Both parties had a discussion about the current power use situation in the North District. CEM showed expectations to enhance communication with the association and to hear valuable opinions and suggestions from north district customers.
Wong Kin Chong said the North District has been developing quickly in recent years, and its population is comparatively larger, and it also has comparatively more CEM customers. He appreciated CEM for establishing the Taipa Customer Service Center last year and also expected CEM to increase offices in the North District to facilitate the citizens. He also mentioned environment improvement. In order to coordinate with the current government scheme of old area reconstruction, he expected CEM to increase street lights and improve the designs to make a more beautiful environment for the North District and to help build a better business environment for there.
Iun Iok Meng said CEM would study to decide whether or not to set up customer centre in North District. He also said CEM has to consider operating costs and actual demand. Furthermore, CEM has kicked off 24-hour payment service at convenience stores recent years, and it has brought great convenience to the residents. For SMEs, CEM always shows attention and the support. CEM has done a lot to guarantee the power supply and electricity tariff stability. CEM will refer the question of street light design to the government to coordinate with city planning. Keegan Cheang pointed out that power issues touch upon the daily life of every citizen, and CEM will enhance communication with citizens and deepen their understanding about the power company. CEM also expects to join hands with the association to organize Electrical Safety Seminar this year.
The attending members also included Jane Leong, Karen Tong, Jaclyn Iun, Ieong Tat Wai, Jung-Li Chiu, Cheung Chik Kuen, Sunny Vong, Leong Si Iao, Lee Choi Hong, Ho Yuk Chun, Lio Mei Chan, and Wong Sio Lam.
