CEM migrating high and medium-voltage cables to facilitate tunnel construction

11 March 2010, Macau

In order to facilitate the tunnel construction at Rotunda do Istmo by the government, CEM will be carrying out migration of high and medium-voltage cables in the area starting from this Friday. The project is expected to last 70 days.

It is necessary for CEM to migrate high and medium-voltage cables at Estrada de Baia de Nossa Senhora da Esperanca, Rotunda do Istmo and Estrada Gov. Nobre de Carvalho as part of its effort to cooperate with the Infrastructure Development Office to build the tunnel. The company recognises that the cable migration project may cause inconveniences to road users and would appreciate the public’s understanding in this matter.

CEM has always worked closely with the relevant government departments and public utilities to ensure that excavation works are not carried out repeatedly within a short span of time. In addition, we aim to minimise the impact on ordinary citizens by ensuring that the duration and scope of road works are within reasonable limits.
