On 23 June 2009 (Tuesday), CEM held the opening ceremony of Sentiments of Macao Watercolors Exhibition by Lai Ieng & Lio Man Cheong to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the founding of the Popular Republic of China and the 10th Anniversary of Macao SAR.
The opening ceremony was held at 5:00pm at CEM Building Ground Floor Main Lobby. The attending guests include Senior Assistant Director-General Economic Affairs Department of Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR Li Chunman, Deputy Director of Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government Wong Sai Hong, Chairman of Macao Journalists’ Association Lok Po, Vice-President of Customer Liaison Committee Lei Chi Fong, as well as painters Lai Ieng and Lio Man Cheong.
CEM Executive Director Bernie Leong said in the speech that CEM has always been devoted to support and promote local art and cultural activities. He said that Mr. Lai Ieng and Mr Lio Man Cheong are the two talented local artists. Through their excellent art works, the Macao’s distinctive cultural heritage is lively presented. We also thank them for granting CEM to publish their paintings to brighten our Annual Report. Through the exhibition of their wonderful paintings, citizens may have a chance to appreciate their artworks.
The Sentiments of Macao Watercolors Exhibition takes place in the lobby of CEM Building on 22 June – 12 July from 9:00am to 10:00pm daily. Citizens are welcome to visit.
As a corporate social responsibility, CEM has always been devoted to support local arts and cultural activities. In addition, in a bid to promote artistic and cultural activities in Macao, CEM will continue to launch different exhibitions at CEM Lobby and provide a venue for the community free of charge.
