To celebrate the joyous moment of the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 10th anniversary of the Macao SAR, Companhia de Electricidade de Macau - CEM, S.A. held the “Light and Electricity in Last Decade” Photography Contest. CEM aims to promote photography activities and witness changes brought by power supply in last decade since Macao’s handover. The Macao Journalists’ Association and the Photography Salon Society of Macao are invited as co-organizers.
Prize presentation and exhibition opening ceremony was held at 3pm on 27 June at the Flower City Garden Activity Centre. Honorable guests include Dong Zhifeng, Division Director of Economic Affairs Department of Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the MSAR; U Weng Hong, Division Chief of Cultural and Recreational Division of IACM, Luk Po, Chairman of Macao Journalists’ Association; Lei U Weng, Chairman of the Photography Salon Society of Macao; Vong Kok Seng, President of CEM Customer Liaison Committee; and João Travassos da Costa, CEM Executive Director. The ceremony was enchanting with over 50 guests and winners attended.
João Travassos da Costa’s stated in his speech, deep rooted in Macao for 37 years, CEM is always actively involved in community activities and takes a devoted role in corporate social responsibilities. During this rejoiced year of the 60th anniversary of the founding of the PRC and the 10th anniversary of the founding of Macao SAR, CEM organizes a series of activities to celebrate and share the joyfulness with the community. Through this photography contest and exhibition, we have witnessed the changes brought by power supply during the last decade since Macao’s handover. While looking back the precious memories, CEM is looking forward to the future and is committed and equipped to serve Macao further.
CEM arranges to exhibit all winning photos at the Flower City Garden Activity Centre from 27 June to 6 July. Over 90 winning and selected entries are exhibited in the “Light and Electricity in Last Decade” Photography Contest Exhibition. The exhibition opens daily from 9am to 8pm. Public is welcome to visit.
